Professor Williams received the award at the Legal Writing Institute’s Biennial Conference.

The President’s Distinguished Service Award recognizes LWI members who have gone above and beyond to serve LWI during the biennium. Winners were chosen by 2022-2024 President Susie Salmon in consultation with the 2022-2024 President-Elect, Abby Perdue. When making the announcement, they wrote, “Carolyn served as the Budget Chair for both the 2022 and 2024 Biennial Conferences, and from 2022 to 2024, she also concurrently served as Treasurer of the Board. These challenging roles required a tremendous amount of time, dedication, organization, and attention to detail. Working hard to safeguard LWI’s financial resources, she ensured that LWI operated in a fiscally responsible manner. In 2024, she was elected to serve a second term as Treasurer.
